Ship paint thinner spilled into the Don River in Rostov-on-Don. This was reported by the head of the city administration Alexei Logvinenko in his Telegram-channel on January 11.
"Today in Rostov a release of diesel fuel into the Don River was recorded. Petroleum products along the shore are spreading and have already reached the Voroshilovsky bridge," he wrote.
Logvinenko said that federal services were called to the scene. According to him, the Natural Supervision Service began to find out the origin and place of discharge. In addition, water samples were taken.
In addition, Logvinenko sent his first deputy Alexei Poteshkin to the scene. At the spill is also the head of the Kirov district administration Natalia Simachenko.
Earlier, on January 3, there was a fuel oil spill in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky during the pumping of fuel from a tanker to coastal tanks. It was specified that the spread of oil products on the water surface was not recorded.

Then it became known that 54 km of the Black Sea coastline in the Krasnodar region should be cleaned from fuel oil pollution. Later it became known that rescuers and volunteers collected more than 21 thousand tons of fuel oil-contaminated soil on the coast of the Kuban and Crimea. In the Krasnodar region was cleaned more than 24 thousand square meters of water area. Specialists collected 25 tons of oily liquid and installed 200 meters of booms.
Before that, tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident, one of which was reclassified as more serious.
