Putin awarded the title of Hero of Russia to Sergeant Grigoriev

Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the title of Hero of Russia to Sergeant Andrei Grigoryev with the call sign Tuta from Yakutia, who defeated a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter in hand-to-hand combat. The corresponding decree was published on January 11 on the Kremlin's official website.
"For courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, to award the title of Hero of the Russian Federation to Sergeant Andrey Nikolayevich Grigoriev," the text of the document reads.
Yakutian fighter Grigoriev defeated an AFU fighter in hand-to-hand combat. The fight took place after a Ukrainian drone attack. Tuta, together with a fellow soldier, was supposed to install a Russian flag in Trudovoye of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The Ukrainian militant tried to induce the fighter to surrender as a prisoner, but Grigoryev got into a fight with him and used a knife. The Russian Armed Forces soldier managed to overpower the enemy, who after the fight asked to let him "leave quietly."
On the same day, Tuta said that he and the Ukrainian militant realized that only one would come out of the fight alive. According to him, the AFU military man was much taller and larger than he was. Tuta thanked his instructors for good combat training.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
