A political analyst pointed out the incompetence of German Foreign Minister Berbock

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has significantly lowered the level of German diplomacy. Vadim Trukhachev, a political scientist and associate professor of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Foreign Policy at the Russian State University of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia on January 11.

"It's just like a pea-sized buffoon, blatant incompetence, blatant stupidity, and at the same time blatant unprofessionalism combined with insolence, obstinacy and fanaticism," he commented on Berbock's expressed desire to retain the post of German foreign minister.

According to Trukhachev, it is the country's foreign minister, not German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is responsible for all of Germany's foreign policy failures.

The newspaper's interlocutor said that Berbock could get 10-12% of the vote. The bulk of those supporting her would be migrants, as Berbock is co-chairman of the Green Party. This, in turn, is the most loyal party in Germany to citizens from Muslim countries, Trukhachev explained.

Earlier in the day, Berbock in an interview with ntv confirmed her desire to retain the duties of the country's foreign minister. According to her, she is far from completing the tasks she has set for herself.

Before that, on December 28 last year, the Bild newspaper reported that Scholz was less likely to become the head of the country's government again. The publication cited the following data: 14-16% of voters are ready to vote for Scholz, while for the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Friedrich Merz - 31-33%.

Scholz announced plans to raise the issue of a vote of confidence in the government in the Bundestag in early November. Then German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier endorsed February 23, 2025 as a possible date for early parliamentary elections. The SPD leadership unanimously nominated Scholz. According to the assessment of German political scientist Yevgenia Pimenova, which she shared with Izvestia, the CDU leader is the most likely contender to succeed him.
