TASS told about the successful launch of the nuclear reactor on the cruiser Admiral Nakhimov

The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov of Project 11442M has physically launched a nuclear reactor. This was reported by TASS on January 11, citing a source.

"In the third decade of December 2024, the Admiral Nakhimov cruiser carried out a scheduled physical launch of the nuclear reactor without the ship going to sea," the defense industry worker told the publication.

In addition, he informed about the completion of the operation on demagnetization of the cruiser.

According to the source, the work carried out does not mean the completion of repair and modernization of the ship.

"The nuclear power plant is ready to function with maximum capacity," he emphasized.
