Air defense systems shot down 85 drones over Russian regions overnight

During the night, 85 drones were destroyed over the territory of Russia. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, January 11.

Air defense means (air defense) shot down 85 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 31 of them - over the Black Sea water area.

"Sixteen UAVs each were shot down over the territories of the Voronezh region and the Krasnodar region, 14 - over the waters of the Sea of Azov, four - over the territory of the Belgorod region, two UAVs were intercepted over the territory of the Tambov region," the report said.

One more drone was destroyed in the sky over the Republic of Crimea and Kursk region.

Earlier in the day, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that windows and roofs of three private houses in the Belgorod district were damaged as a result of suppression of the Ukrainian drones' attack by air defense means.

Also on the night of January 11, Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev reported that air defense (Air Defense) and electronic warfare (EW) assets eliminated 15 drones in the skies above Voronezh.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories amid the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
