Convicted for the fire in the club "Polygon" Ionkin arrived in the colony
Serviceman Stanislav Ionkin, sentenced to 20 years in a high-security colony for the fire in the club "Polygon" in Kostroma, was sent to a high-security colony. This is reported by the press service of the Second Western District Military Court on Saturday, January 11.
"The military court received a writ of execution, on the basis of which it became known that Ionkin arrived in the colony to further serve his sentence," TASS quoted court representatives as saying.
According to the court, where Ionkin was sentenced, he will be able to apply for participation in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, but already upon arrival in the colony.
In March, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Sergeant Ionkin, who started the fire at the Polygon club in Kostroma, to 20 years in a strict regime colony. The fire in the club occurred on the night of November 5, 2022.
On August 27, the lawyer of the military man, Yuri Khromtsov, said that Ionkin had signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry and was ready to go to the NWO zone. The appeals court upheld the decision to sentence Ionkin to 20 years in prison, returning his state awards, including the medal "For Bravery" and the rank of Guards sergeant.
