The Defense Ministry published footage of snipers' combat work in the border area of the Kursk Region

On January 11, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of snipers of the separate Guards motorized rifle brigade of the "North" group of troops in the border area of Kursk Region.

After receiving a combat assignment, sniper pairs move to the area where they carry out tasks targeting manpower, vehicles and light armored vehicles.

Due to the caliber of the standard weapons, snipers using various sniper rifles can hit targets even behind the walls of buildings. Snipers are also assisted by modern sights, which allow them to increase the efficiency of shooting.

Soldiers work in pairs, covering each other. To camouflage the position and the shot, they use thermal imaging capes and closed-type muzzle brakes, which dissipate the sound of the shot and cancel out the flash.

"Our job is to support the assault units, meaning we are always exactly on the cutting edge. They move and we move," said the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Iceman.

"A sniper's main weapon is not the rifle, but the fear he sows."

Earlier, on January 10, the Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction by the FPV-drone calculation of the infantry fighting vehicle Bradley of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk region. It is specified that the military equipment was detected by means of aerial reconnaissance of one of the units of the group of troops "North" on the outskirts of the settlement.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
