- The Defense Ministry published footage of combat training of pilots and navigators on Tu-160s

On January 11, the Defense Ministry published footage of combat training of long-range aviation pilots and navigators on the Tu-160 aircraft simulator complex.
During the military training, the flight crew performed a training task in situations of unfavorable weather conditions, zero visibility and various failures of onboard electronic equipment, such as engine failure or loss of radio communication.
The pilots and navigators were then debriefed on aviation incidents and the requirements of the guidance documents.
In addition, during simulator flights pilots practiced tactical defeat of command posts, military equipment and fire suppression of the advancing forces of the conditional enemy.
Earlier, on January 9, it was reported that servicemen of assault units of the Southern Military District (South Military District), who signed the first contract with the Russian Defense Ministry, began exercises in the new year 2025. The ministry said that the training of assault units takes from several weeks to a month, during which the personnel are trained in various types of weapons, tactical medicine, engineering training and other disciplines.
