The administration of US President Joe Biden has not had time to spend about $4 billion of funds for Ukraine, they will come at the disposal of the team of the elected leader Donald Trump. This was announced by spokeswoman Sabrina Singh on January 10.

"Don't worry, the amount that will remain at the disposal of the next administration will be just under $4 billion," she announced at a briefing broadcast on the YouTube channel of the defense Department.

At the same time, Singh said that the U.S. had not made a decision to expand the list of weapons to be sent to Ukraine.

Earlier, on January 8, Politico reported that the contact group on Ukraine's defense may disintegrate after Austin leaves office, RT reported.

It is specified that when the US defense secretary leaves his post, the contact group will lose its main "cheerleader and founder." Meanwhile, the publication, citing NATO representatives, claims that the group may continue its work without Austin, but in a different format, 360.ru reports.

On the eve of the representative of the US Department of Defense said that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to give up in the Ukrainian conflict, writes "Moscow 24". He also noted that in this regard, Washington is focused on allocating Ukraine the necessary funds for combat operations.

Earlier, on January 8, a high-ranking Pentagon official said that the team of the current US leader Joe Biden will not have time before the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump to transfer military aid worth more than $2 billion to Ukraine. It was also reported at the time that Washington plans to allocate $500 million to Kiev as part of a new aid package.

Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev in a conversation with Izvestia on December 26, 2024 drew attention to the fact that US citizens are tired of financing the Kiev regime. The politician admitted that with Biden's departure from the White House, this assistance from Washington to Kiev may stop. Trump, in turn, said that after the change of the American administration and his arrival to the presidency, the United States may reduce the volume of military aid to Ukraine.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of the Russian Federation's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
