- Rada predicts Ukraine's destruction due to Zelensky's refusal to negotiate with Russian Federation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy 's refusal (his term of office expired on 20 May 2024) to negotiate with Russia can lead to the destruction of the Ukrainian state. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinskyy on January 10.
"What Zelensky is doing now, refusing peace talks, is called suicide," he wrote in his Telegram-channel.
In his opinion, the Ukrainian leader is trying to "appeal to the sense of justice of European bureaucrats and arouse compassion among ordinary Europeans" by forcing people to participate in hostilities with a shortage of personnel and weapons.
"Having taken the entire country hostage together with his political associates <...> he threatens to destroy it," Dubinsky concluded.
A day earlier, the Kiev International Institute of Sociology reported that Ukrainian residents' trust in Zelensky has fallen by 39% since December 2022 .
Last October, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine could not win in a confrontation with Russia on the battlefield and communications and ceasefire were needed to save lives.
At the same time, retired former US Army Lt. Col. Daniel Davis called Zelensky's "victory plan" contradictory and meaningless. He added that the head of the Kiev regime was "completely confused" in terms and unable to distinguish between negotiations and a forceful solution to the issue.
For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the Russian side had never refused to negotiate on Ukraine, but not on the basis of "ephemeral demands", but on the basis of the parameters agreed in Istanbul. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out, Washington, Europe and the authorities in Kiev are now not inclined towards political and diplomatic means.
The last round of talks took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4 of the same year, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin was put into effect.
