A Panama-flagged tanker with 99,000 tons of oil on board, which lost control, was found off the coast of Germany in the Baltic Sea. About it on Friday, January 10, reports the command of the FRG maritime emergency command.

"Eventin tanker under the flag of Panama drifting at low speed in the coastal waters of the Baltic Sea north of Rügen, unable to maneuver <...> According to available data, the tanker is loaded with approximately 99 thousand tons of oil," - stated on the website of the military.

It is noted that the evacuation of the crew is not required. To clarify the situation in the specified area sent reconnaissance aircraft Do 228. To prevent danger near the tanker in distress is a multipurpose vessel Arkona of the Federal Office of Waterways and Shipping and emergency tug Bremen Fighter.

According to German media, the oil tanker is 274 meters long, the ship was bound for Egyptian Port Said, specifies "Gazeta.Ru". There is currently no threat to the environment.
