A spokesman for the Houthis reported an attack on the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman

Yemeni Houthi forces struck the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea with missiles and drones. Yahya Saria, a military spokesman for Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement, said on January 10.

"We struck the US aircraft carrier Truman and a number of its warships in the northern Red Sea with a number of missiles and drones," Saria said, his words quoted by Al Masirah TV channel.

He specified that these military operations were carried out over the past 48 hours, Gazeta.Ru reported . According to Saria, the aircraft carrier was preparing a new Yemeni air attack and because of the strike by the Hussein, USS Harry Truman had to suspend this work and withdraw from the northern Red Sea.

Ansar Allah military spokesman added that with such strikes, the Houthis are fulfilling their duty to the Palestinian people. The Yemeni movement will continue its attacks until the fighting in the Gaza Strip stops and Israel withdraws from the enclave.

And while the Yemeni movement fills the vacuum, there has been diplomatic activity on the Gaza ceasefire

Earlier in the day, Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that the US and Britain carried out airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen's capital Sanaa and Amran province.

Before that, on December 31, 2024, Sana'a was also hit by airstrikes. Al Masirah TV channel reported that the target of the attacks, believed to be carried out by the US and Britain, was the Al Ardi building complex, which houses the Houthi Defense Ministry. In addition, six other strikes were carried out on another neighborhood.

On the same day, the Houthis reported attacking the USS Harry Truman with drones and missiles. According to Saria, this is how Ansar Allah thwarted an air attack on Yemen.

The Houthis began striking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in November 2023 to protest Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. On the night of January 12, 2024, in response to their actions, the U.S. and Britain launched an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen. The White House said the strikes on movement-controlled areas of the country were defensive in nature. It was also claimed at the time that the strikes were carried out to protect international vessels.
