The State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Paternity, Maternity and Childhood Issues on Friday, January 10, recommended adopting a bill to extend the maternity capital program until the end of 2030. These data follow from a document published in the Duma electronic base.
"The State Duma Committee on family protection, paternity, maternity and childhood issues decided to recommend to the State Duma to adopt the named draft federal law," the document reads.
It is proposed to consider the bill in the first reading on January 14. It was submitted to the State Duma by the Russian government on December 19, 2024.
Earlier, last December 18, during a government meeting, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the maternity capital program will be extended until 2030. He noted that such a measure of state aid has confirmed its effectiveness and demand. According to him, more than 14 million certificates have been issued during the entire existence of the program, and its extension will allow to support about 5 million more families.
Before that, on November 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the budget of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for 2025-2027, according to which the maternity capital will be indexed by 7.3%. The indexation will take place from February 1, 2025.
