Slovakia has suspected Ukraine of a powerful hacker attack that suspended the work of cadastre departments in district offices. This was reported by the topkyy website on 10 January with reference to the results of the meeting of the country's security council announced at a joint press conference of representatives of the government and law enforcers.

It is noted that due to the cyberattack, the authorities and local self-government bodies cannot access confidential data on the ownership of land plots and real estate.

In addition, banks have problems with the payment of mortgage loans, and citizens can not get building permits and even parking cards.

Slovak Agriculture Minister Richard Takacs suggested that Ukraine may be involved in the attack.

"There are serious indications and suspicions that such attacks probably came from Ukraine," the publication reports his words.

According to topky, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo also holds such an opinion.

"One of the investigative versions we are working on is that the attack also came from Ukraine," Fitzo said at a meeting of the European Affairs Committee in parliament.

Last December, it was reported that hackers linked to China allegedly attacked the electronic systems of the U.S. Treasury Department. The New York Times reported that the Treasury Department was notified of the attack by BeyondTrust. The hacker could gain access to remote workstations of the Ministry of Finance and documents stored there. According to the ministry, it cooperated with the FBI in investigating the attack.

The next day, China's foreign ministry said Beijing has always opposed any form of hacking attacks, as well as the spread of false information against China.
