Three people were killed in a crush at a mosque in Damascus

Three people were killed and at least five others injured in a stampede during Friday prayers at the central Umayyad mosque in the Syrian capital Damascus. This was reported by Turkish television channel Ahaber on January 10.

"Three people, including a child, were reportedly killed and five others injured in the crush at the Umayyad Mosque. It was stated that the crush occurred because everyone gathered at the front door at the same time," the publication said.

According to the material, the injured were given first aid. Severely wounded were taken to the hospital.

Earlier, on January 1, it was reported that several dozen people were injured in a crush at the entrance to the metro station after the end of New Year celebrations on the first day of the New Year in the suburbs of the Qatari capital Lusail.
