The DNR reported successes of the Russian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov

The Russian Armed Forces are taking the Ukrainian-controlled towns of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk) and Dimitrov (Ukrainian name: Myrnohrad) in their pincers. Igor Kimakovsky, an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), said on January 10.

"That is to say that we are now not storming head-on, but bypassing as it were this agglomeration - two cities that actually merge one into the other. We are bypassing them, taking them in pincers from the west and east," he said on the air ofSolovyov Live.

Kimakovsky also emphasized that the Dimitrov direction is under pressure from the north. According to him, this task is almost accomplished, as Russian military equipment is located on the Dimitrov-Konstantinovka highway.

The adviser to the head of the DNR drew attention to the fact that Konstantinovka represents an important target for the Russian army. He added that there are also successes in the area of Chasovy Yar. In addition, Russian troops are carrying out an offensive from Selidovo to the west.

On the same day, it was reported that after the liberation of the settlement of Kurakhovo by Russian troops, the DNR thwarted 16 attempts by the AFU to restore the tactical position in the area of responsibility of the group "South" in the period from January 4 to January 10. During this time, the Ukrainian forces lost three tanks, including German-made Leopard, 12 armored combat vehicles, including two American M113 armored personnel carriers.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
