A special military operation to protect civilians in Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the joint troops of Russia, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as see a map of military operations for a week - from January 4 to January 10, 2025 - in the material of "Izvestia".

According to the Defense Ministry, during this time the Russian Armed Forces (AF) carried out 28 group strikes with high-precision weapons and strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against military targets in Ukraine. As a result, the infrastructure of military airfields, weapons depots, assembly shops, storage sites for attack drones, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries were hit.

Units of the "North" troop group continued to destroy the enemy on the territory of the Kursk region. The Russian army hit the living forces and equipment of the heavy mechanized, tank, six mechanized, four airborne assault brigades of the Ukrainian army, a brigade of marines and five brigades of thero-defense. Also "North" repelled two counterattacks of the enemy.

The agency recalled that active actions of units of the group of forces "West" was released the settlement of Nadiya, "Center" - Dachenskoye, and South - Kurakhovo.

During the week, 91 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered at the line of contact.

During this time, air defense assets shot down eight U.S.-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles, five French Hammer guided aerial bombs, 41 U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) shells, and 689 aircraft-type UAVs.

In total, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39,896 drones, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,467 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,507 MLRS combat vehicles, 20,385 field artillery and mortar guns, and 30,135 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation.
