Russian Armed Forces launched 28 group strikes on military targets in Ukraine over the week

The Russian army has carried out 28 group strikes with precision-guided weapons and drones against military targets in Ukraine over the past week. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on 10 January.

The ministry specified that as a result of the Russian army's actions, the infrastructure of military airfields, weapons depots, assembly shops, storage sites for attack drones, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries were hit.

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces (AF) shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. Also on the line of contact, 91 Ukrainian military personnel surrendered during the week.

"Air defense means shot down eight operational-tactical missiles ATACMS produced by the USA, five guided aerial bombs Hammer produced by France, 41 rockets of the multiple launch rocket system HIMARS produced by the USA, as well as 689 unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type", - stated in the message of the department.

On the same day, an artillery crew of the Msta-B howitzer of the Center group of troops hit an AFU command post in the Red Army direction of the SSO with the Krasnopol-M2 high-precision munition. After accomplishing the combat task, the servicemen camouflaged the gun and promptly headed for cover.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
