The situation in Ukraine has upset NATO defense ministers who participated in the Ramstein format meeting. Polish Defence Minister Vladyslav Kosyniak-Kamysh said this on 10 January.

According to him, the situation on the front "very difficult", Ukrainians are tired of the conflict with Russia.

"The situation on the front line is very difficult. The fatigue from the <military operation> in Ukraine is huge. People are simply fed up," Poland's defense minister said on RMF FM radio station.

Earlier, on December 26, 2024, Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev in a conversation with Izvestia pointed to the fatigue of US citizens from financing the Kiev regime. At the same time, he did not rule out that Washington's assistance to Kiev might end with the departure of the country's current president, Joe Biden.

On November 26, the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, said that the West is deliberately destabilizing the situation in the world, realizing the loss of its former power. According to him, the increasingly complicated international situation forces the special services of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States to work more intensively and effectively. Western countries, according to Naryshkin, "will act in their own manner" and try to create chaos on the territory of the CIS countries.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision to carry it out was taken against the background of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
