Maxim Yeliseyev, editor of Izvestia TV channel, was farewelled in the Moscow Region

Editor of the Izvestiya TV channel Maxim Yeliseyev, who was killed in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone, was buried on January 10 in the Moscow Region.

His widow Irina shared her memories of the journalist.

"When Maxim made such a decision - to go to the SWO - I understood that he, as a patriot, simply could not stay away. <...> He was a very creative person, a talented journalist. <...> Very bright, kind, caring. He could never pass by someone's misfortune. If you can call a person an angel in human form, it's all about Maxim," she said.

A large number of people came to see the journalist off on his last journey. At the cemetery, the guard of honor made a mourning salute with volleys from carbines to the Russian national anthem.

In the fall of 2022, the journalist left professional activity and went to the front as a volunteer, he served as a signalman. Eliseev died on December 26, 2024 in the combat zone.
