Ukraine's defense minister announces Kiev's military plan for 2025

Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said during a meeting of the contact group to support Kiev at the Ramstein military base in Germany that Kiev's plans for 2025 include stabilizing the front and strengthening defense capabilities. This was reported by the Ministry of defense of Ukraine in the Telegram-channel on January 10.
"During the meeting, we presented our strategy, which is based on four key priorities: stabilizing the front line, strengthening Ukraine's defensive capabilities, strengthening the protection of the sky and sea routes, asymmetric responses to attempts to achieve an advantage at the expense of scale," Umerov said.
In turn, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said during a meeting on January 9 that the United States would allocate a new $500 million military aid package to Ukraine. According to him, the Pentagon aims to deliver weapons to Ukraine by the end of January.
Earlier, on January 7, The Washington Post said that Ukraine was unlikely to survive another year of hostilities with Russia. The author of the material expressed the opinion that Kiev is losing territory and troops, and the ability of Ukraine to exist as a sovereign state will determine the next few weeks.
Before that, on December 12, 2024, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Dubinsky, who is in the Ukrainian detention center on suspicion of state treason, said that Ukraine has already lost in the conflict, Donbass is actually lost for it. He explained that the US Democratic Party, led by current President Joe Biden, continues to sponsor Ukraine under the guise of forming a strong negotiating position, although they actually seek to prolong the conflict for another two years.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
