In Orel, the former head and head of the bus fleet of the streetcar and trolleybus enterprise wrote off serviceable vehicles for the sake of making money. They were charged with abuse of power. This was reported on January 10 by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Orel region.

"The investigation found that in the summer of 2022, the accused out of other personal interest prepared and agreed inspection acts containing knowingly false information about the faulty technical condition of 16 buses, in order to write them off the balance sheet of the enterprise and disposal under the guise and at the price of scrap ferrous metal", - stated in the publication of the Department in Telegram.

The damage caused amounted to more than 33 million rubles, reported in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

It is noted that no actual inspection was carried out when the vehicles were written off. The scrapped buses could carry out regular passenger transportation to generate profit for the enterprise, the press service added.

The accused will be brought to court. A criminal case under the article "Abuse of official powers, resulting in grave consequences" (part 3 of article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) has been initiated against the attackers.

January 9, it was reported that the state prosecution requested 12 years in prison for the founder of ChronoPay Pavel Vrublevsky, accused of fraud. The man is also accused of theft, money laundering and illegal circulation of payment means.
