Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko has asked US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the reaction of the residents of California to the new aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"How did the residents of California react to the next tranche of funds for (the conflict. - Ed.)," she wrote on her page on the social network X (former Twitter).

On January 9, Irish journalist Chay Bose said that current U.S. President Joe Biden is sending money to Ukraine amid wildfires in California - these actions show his contempt for the American people. According to him, the United States is "literally burning", while the politician "sends money to the dictator", the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024).

On the same day, the son of the President-elect of the United States Donald Trump - Jr. rebuked the authorities of California for the fact that they gave Ukraine firefighting equipment that they considered unnecessary - it would now be very useful in extinguishing. In addition, Trump Jr. called on the state's governor Gavin Newsom to resign.

Multiple wildfires in Los Angeles were reported on January 8, the fire started in the Eaton Canyon area. Suppression continues, with high winds fueling the fire and rescue crews lacking water. Due to the fires, Biden declared a major disaster mode in the state of California.

Emergency services urged residents to prepare for evacuation. In its zone was the residence of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who said that with all her heart sympathizes with those affected by the fire. Los Angeles resident Don Reiman told Izvestia that in the neighborhood where he lives, managed to defend only his house, and the rest of the buildings burned to the ground.

In addition, the fire destroyed the luxurious mansions of Hollywood actors and celebrities, such as Anthony Hopkins, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton. Many of these homes were worth millions of dollars.
