Car sales in Russian Federation turned out to be a record for five years
According to the results of 2024, car sales in Russia were the best for the last five years. This was reported by the analytical agency Avtostat on January 10.
Last year, 1.57 million new passenger cars were sold in the country. Before that, slightly more cars were realized in 2019 - 1.59 million units.
As reported earlier in the day, 2024 sales were 48.4% higher than 2023. Lada accounts for 28% of total sales, 436.2 thousand cars of the domestic brand were sold last year.
The most popular foreign brand last year was Haval, followed by Chery, Geely, Changan and Omoda. Exeed, Jetour, Belgee and Tank completed the top ten. Lada Granta was the best-seller among the models, Lada Vesta took the second place. The third was the best-seller among foreign cars - Haval Jolion.
The day before it was reported that at the end of 2024 in Russia was sold more than 23 thousand cars "Moskvich", including more than 2.4 thousand liftback "Moskvich 6" and more than 1.3 thousand electric crossovers "Moskvich 3e". Back in August 2024, the plant stated that Moskvich was sticking to its plan to sell 27 thousand cars in 2024.
