The activities of 109 illegal gunsmiths were stopped in Russia

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation together with the Interior Ministry and Rosgvardiya have stopped the activities of 109 illegal gunsmiths in 40 regions of Russia. This was reported on January 10 in the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

During the raids 355 firearms of domestic and foreign production were seized, including machine guns, automatic rifles, rifles, carbines, shotguns, grenade launchers and flamethrowers. In addition, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, more than 35 kg of explosives and more than 94,600 rounds of ammunition of various caliber.

In addition, the activities of 38 clandestine workshops for weapons modernization and ammunition manufacturing were stopped.

Earlier, on October 28, 2024, it was reported that the activities of more than 120 underground gunsmiths were stopped in 39 Russian regions in August and September. As a result, FSB officers together with the Interior Ministry and Rosgvardiya seized 333 firearms, more than 290 kg of explosives, 123 electric detonators and more than 633 thousand rounds of ammunition.
