Kazakhstani and Soviet writer Mukhtar Magauin died


Famous Soviet and Kazakh writer Mukhtar Magauin died in the United States at the 85th year of life. This was reported on January 10 by the writer's son Yedige Magauin on his page in the social network Facebook (owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
He wrote that his father passed away at home and surrounded by his children.
Mukhtar Magauin was a master of words who made a significant contribution to the expansion of Kazakh literature and history. He was a national writer of Kazakhstan, a researcher of Kazakh folklore heritage, and a doctor of philological sciences. He received the Abay State Prize of the Kazakh SSR.
