Satellite images of the consequences of wildfires in Los Angeles have been published. This was reported on January 10 by the American publications The Washington Post (WP) and The New York Times (NYT).

It is noted that the fires covered the neighborhoods of Eaton, Pacific Palisades and Hearst.

According to the publications, the coast between Santa Monica and Malibu suffered the most from the fire. Residential homes and luxury real estate are located there. The damage from the fires exceeded $50 billion, more than 257 thousand people were left without electricity.

According to the latest information, it has not yet been possible to completely localize the fires.

Numerous forest fires in Los Angeles were reported the day before. Extinguishing continues, strong wind fuels the fire, rescue teams lack water. The victims have already become seven people. In connection with the fires, Biden declared a major disaster regime in the state of California.

Emergency services urged residents to be ready to evacuate. In the evacuation zone was also the residence of the current Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris, who said that with all her heart sympathizes with those affected by the fire. Don Reiman, one of the residents of Los Angeles, told Izvestia that his house was the only one that survived the fire, while the rest of the buildings turned into ruins.
