The Defense Ministry reported 40 destroyed drones over Russian regions

Air defense means (Air Defense Forces) eliminated 40 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Russian regions during the past night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on January 10.

"16 UAVs were destroyed over the territory of Rostov region, four UAVs each - over the territories of Kursk and Voronezh regions, three UAVs - over the territory of Bryansk region, two - over the territory of Krasnodar region, one - over the territory of Belgorod region and 10 - over the waters of the Sea of Azov," the ministry's Telegram channel reported.

Shortly before that, Yuri Slyusar, the acting governor, said that air defense and electronic warfare (REB) means had destroyed and suppressed 16 Ukrainian UAVs over the Rostov region. Myasnikovsky district was attacked: a fire broke out in a private house in the village of Chaltyr. A fire also broke out on the territory of a production facility in the village of Krym.

Also on the night of January 10, the governor of Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, reported that several drones were suppressed in the suburbs of Voronezh by means of electronic warfare. As a result of the attacks, the windows of one company were smashed, in another locality the windows of a private house were damaged and a fence was slashed, and in a suburban area the windows of four private houses, as well as a car, were damaged after the UAVs were destroyed and debris fell.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories amid the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
