The death toll in the Los Angeles County fires has risen to six


Malibu authorities reported the first death in the Palisades fire, bringing the total death toll in the Los Angeles fires to six. CNN reported on January 9.
"While the identity of the deceased has not yet been determined, this tragic news weighs heavily on our hearts," Malibu Mayor Doug Stewart said in a statement.
The mayor expressed his deepest condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.
No other details of the death were released.
