Rosrybolovstvo assesses damage from the fuel spill in the Kerch Strait

Rosrybolovstvo is assessing the damage caused by the fuel spill in the Kerch Strait. This was reported to "Izvestia" in the press service of the Department.

"Rosrybolovstvo together with the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography is working on the calculation of damage caused to aquatic biological resources as a result of the wreck of tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239", - said in the press-service.

It also noted that Rosrybolovstvo and the Institute continue to monitor the situation.

"Inspectors of the Azov-Black Sea territorial department of Rosrybolovstvo constantly monitor the spread of fuel oil. The release of oil products was also recorded in the Saksky district and Evpatoria, specialists were promptly sent there", - explained in the department.
