Match of the regular championship of the National Basketball Association (NBA) between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte postponed indefinitely because of massive fires in Los Angeles (California). This is reported on January 9 by the press service of the Lakers.

"Tonight's game will be postponed to focus on what matters most today," the statement said.

The meeting was supposed to take place on Thursday. A new date for the matchup will be announced at a later date.

The Lakers expressed condolences to the victims and families of those killed by the fires.

Numerous wildfires in Los Angeles were reported the day before, the fire started in the Eaton Canyon neighborhood. Extinguishing continues, strong winds fuel the fire, rescue crews lack water. Due to the fires, Biden declared a major disaster mode in the state of California.

Los Angeles resident Don Reiman told Izvestia that in the neighborhood where he lives, managed to defend only his house, while the rest of the buildings burned to the ground.
