Rakov, a dancer serving in the AFU, was liquidated in the SSO zone


A dancer, Vladimir Rakov, who performed in the Russian show "Dancing" and then joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), has been eliminated in the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine. This was reported by "Gazeta.Ru" with reference to social networks of Ukrainian dancers on Thursday, January 9.
Choreographer Galina Peha said that Rakov died back on January 6. He was assigned a combat mission, but what exactly it was and where he was at the time of his death was not reported. The dancer served in the 2nd Rifle Battalion of the 24th Independent Mechanized Brigade and joined the AFU back in 2022.
Rakov was born in Crimea and later moved to the United States, where he trained in Los Angeles and New York. His career as a dancer took him to Germany, where he participated in several tournaments. In Ukraine, Rakov performed on the TV program "Everybody Dance!", where he won first place in 2013. In 2019, he arrived in Russia, where he took part in the show "Dancing" on TNT and managed to reach the semifinals.
Earlier, on September 27, in the Committee on youth and sports of the Verkhovna Rada reported that the Ukrainian mixed martial arts (MMA) champion Nazary Gavrilets died in the Kursk region.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
