Four sections of the M-5 "Ural" federal highway will be widened to four lanes in the Chelyabinsk Region. This was reported to Ura.ru news agency by the Southern Urals Department of Roads.
The reconstruction will take place at the 86th kilometer of the road and will be carried out in several stages. The project documentation for three sections, running through the territory of Satka district and Zlatoust district, is under examination. The project of the fourth site has already been approved by Glavgosexpertiza of the Russian Federation.
"The project documentation for the overhaul of the M-5 "Ural" road in Satkinsky district and Zlatoustovsky district on the sections from 1670th to 1690th km, from 1705th to 1727th km and from 1727th to 1750th km is under consideration of the State Expert Review. Positive conclusion has already been received for the section from 1649th to 1670th km", - told the news agency.
In addition, in early 2025, the road department intends to hand over an expanded 14-kilometer section of the M-5, located near Asha. Last summer, a four-lane section also opened between Chelyabinsk and Miass.
