Lyubimova named "Red Silk" one of the most anticipated films of the year

The head of the Russian Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova on Thursday, January 9, at the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government called the adventure film "Red Silk" one of the most expected in the box office in 2025.

"One of the most anticipated movie premieres of this year will be the adventure film "Red Silk" already in February. It is based on real events of 1927 <...>. This is our joint [with China] project, it has already received approval from our colleagues in China," she said.

The film produced by Nota Bene Film Group, NMG Kinoprokat and Art Pictures Distribution (part of the National Media Group holding) will be released in cinemas on February 20, 2025.

During the meeting, Lyubimova also informed Putin about cooperation with China in the field of film production. According to her, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation is developing an action plan for joint film projects, and a trip of Russian filmmakers to China is planned for the beginning of the year to get acquainted with their film industry.

The actions of the film "Red Silk" takes place in 1927. Trans-Siberian Express across Russia transports secret documents that will determine the course of history. Under the guise of ordinary passengers of the train are hidden foreign intelligence agents and real thugs who for the sake of documents are ready for anything. In order to reveal the common enemy, their efforts are joined by a young Red Army soldier and a former Tsarist agent.

The shooting involved the stars of Russian cinema - Milos Bikovich, Gleb Kalyuzhny, Elena Podkaminskaya, Yaroslav Mogilnikov, Gosha Kutsenko, Dmitry Kulichkov and Irina Alferova. The main female role was played by Chinese actress Zheng Hanyi.
