In Dagestan, more than 250 sheep died when caught in a mud mass
More than 250 sheep died after getting stuck in a mud mass in Dagestan. This was reported on Thursday, January 9, by Nabi Abdulgamidov, the head of the Republican Department of distant livestock breeding (RDMB).
"Unfortunately, about 50 out of 300 sheep that got stuck in the mud mass were saved," TASS quoted him as saying.
The incident occurred earlier in the day. About 300 sheep from the Gagarin SPK in the Levashinsky district got stuck in the mud mass after the shepherd lagged behind the flock.
It was specified that the rescue operation was hampered by difficult conditions: machinery could not pass through, and people had difficulty reaching the animals.
Earlier, in October last year, it was reported that in the village of Ustievoye, Sobolevo District, Kamchatka, a group of orcas got stuck on the shoal of the estuary, one animal died.
