Swimmer Gary Hall stripped of his Olympic medals due to fires in California

Five-time Olympic swimming champion Gary Hall lost 10 medals as a result of fires in Los Angeles (California). This was reported on January 9 by the athlete's father Gary Hall - Sr.

"He lost 10 Olympic medals, but nothing can take away his spirit that won these awards," he wrote in the social network Facebook (belongs to the organization Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia).

According to him, his son was forced to "leave everything he had," including family heirlooms, photos and other significant items.

Hall Sr. clarified that the athlete was at home when he saw the flames. He was able to retrieve his dog, insulin, a painting of his grandfather, and a religious wooden figurine donated by his daughter Gigi.

In addition, The Daily Mail reported that due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, the house of the son of current US President Joe Biden 's son Hunter burned to the ground.
