Zelensky rebuked allies for delaying air defense supplies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on 20 May 2024) has rebuked allies for failing to fulfill their promises to supply weapons. He said this on January 9 during a meeting of the contact group to support Kiev at the Ramstein military base in Germany.
"We are grateful for the air defense systems that you provided, but we also need what you promised," - quotes Zelensky Ukrainian Telegram channel "Strana.ua".
In his turn, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said during the meeting that the USA would allocate a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $500m. According to him, the Pentagon aims to deliver weapons to Ukraine by the end of January.
State Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev in a conversation with Izvestia on December 26, 2024, drew attention to the fact that US citizens are tired of financing the Kiev regime. The politician admitted that with the departure of Joe Biden from the White House, this assistance from Washington to Kiev may stop.
US President-elect Donald Trump said on December 8 that after the change of the US administration and his arrival to the presidency, the United States may reduce the volume of military aid to Ukraine.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the backdrop of the Russian Federation's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
