Expert names a way to save a wet phone
If your phone gets wet, you should promptly take a few steps to save it from breakage. Alexei Yurasov, professor of the Department of Nanoelectronics of RTU MIREA, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, told about it on Thursday, January 9.
"The first thing to do is to turn off the phone and wipe the case dry. Attaching to the charger is categorically forbidden," he said in conversation with Lenta.Ru.
According to the expert, further actions depend on the degree of getting wet.
"If the phone was in the snow, it should be cleared of snow as soon as possible, then in a short time the snow will not have time to melt and cause damage. The same should be done in case of short-term exposure to moisture or water droplets. The phone should be placed vertically, charging connector down, and wait for the holes on the bottom of the case to dry completely," he explained.
If the phone is completely immersed in water, even for a short time, the procedure is the same except for the last step, Yurasov added.
He noted that you can use an air compressor or a cylinder of compressed air to speed up the drying process.
If the phone does not turn on, you should contact a service center for professional help, he concluded.
