A civilian was injured in the shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of the village of Tetkino in Glushkovsky district of Kursk Region on the evening of January 8, his life is not in danger. This was reported on January 9 by Alexander Khinshtein, acting governor of the region.

"As a result of mortar shelling of the village of Tetkino, Glushkovsky district, a civilian born in 1963 received shrapnel wounds. He is now in the Kursk regional clinical hospital," Khinshtein wrote in his Telegram channel.

In the morning of January 9, the injured man was examined by the deputy governor of Kursk region, Honored Doctor of Russia Andrei Belostotsky. The wounded man's life is not threatened, he managed to avoid severe injuries in the Ukrainian attack.

Hinshtein reminded that residents of the border region should avoid traveling to areas under fire, urged people to remember about safety and take care of themselves.

Earlier, on January 8, a married couple suffered a drone attack by the AFU in the farm Leonovka of Valuyskiy district of Belgorod region. The Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the couple had closed head injuries and shrapnel wounds.

Before that, on January 5, a Ukrainian drone attacked the Neklinovsky district of the Rostov region, a seven-year-old boy was injured. The child was hospitalized in one of the hospitals of Taganrog and provided all the necessary assistance.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
