More than 500 thousand servings of shashlik and 99 tons of tangerines were eaten during the New Year in Sochi

Sochi authorities have established how many portions of shashlik, khachapuri and mandarins tourists ate during the New Year vacations. During these holidays the resort was visited by 496 thousand vacationers. The total flow of guests increased from last year by 8%.

Every third guest visited the mountain cluster. The peak period of tourist flow was the days from December 31 to January 5.

As KrasnodarMedia IA writes with reference to the city administration, during this time period in the resort ate 562 thousand portions of shashlik, 29 thousand khachapuri, about 100 tons of tangerines, drank 314 thousand portions of tea.

The Agency reminds that in 2024 the resort welcomed the eight millionth tourist. This is a married couple from Voronezh. They regularly visit Sochi and this time came with children.

Earlier, on December 20, the service "Sletat.ru" told about popular destinations for New Year holidays among Russians. According to the research, the top 10 popular destinations for New Year holidays included Egypt, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, China, Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, as well as some regions of Russia. A year earlier, Cuba and Venezuela were also in the top 10.
