St. Petersburg prosecutor's office starts verification of the incident with gas poisoned children

The Prosecutor's Office of Nevsky district of St. Petersburg is checking the information about three underage children seeking medical help. This was reported in the press service of the agency on January 9.

According to preliminary data, the children were poisoned by carbon monoxide.

"Based on the results of the inspection will be assessed the actions of the authorized bodies and organizations to inspect the ventilation ducts of the house, inspection of gas equipment", - said in the Telegram-channel of the Prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg.

The mother of the victims told Izvestia that the gas column in the apartment from which the children were hospitalized was in good working order.

According to the woman, after the incident, the column was inspected by gas engineers - when the device was turned off, all indicators were normal. At the same time, the specialists suggested that someone from the neighbors could take out the pipe in the chimney or in the hood because of repairs, which could be the cause of poisoning.

At the time of the incident, the mother of many children was at work. Four of her children were in the apartment - all of them were in different rooms at the time of the poisoning.

The doctors who examined the youngest child suggested that the cause of the ailment could be intestinal poisoning or rotavirus. The mother of the victims said that all the children ate different food and such a diagnosis is unlikely.

According to the source of "Izvestia", now the children are in a stable condition with positive dynamics, they have already been transferred from the intensive care unit.

The hospitalization of three children from the apartment on Tkachy Street became known a day earlier. They were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Earlier in the day it was reported that in Kislovodsk a drunken woman fell asleep on the ground, leaving an infant nearby in just diapers. According to Izvestia's source, it was +12 degrees outside. The ten-month-old baby was not badly hurt. A criminal case has been opened.
