The Russian Armed Forces hit the infrastructure of military airfields and AFU workshops

Russian servicemen have hit the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as assembly and storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 9.

"The infrastructure of military airfields, assembly shops, UAV storage sites, as well as accumulations of manpower and equipment of the AFU armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 163 areas were hit," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, air defense assets shot down a Hammer guided aerial bomb, 14 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 71 aircraft-type drones.

Earlier in the day it was reported that a mortar calculation of the Rosgvardiya artillery unit inflicted fire damage on AFU personnel in the Kharkiv region. The fighters received the coordinates and carried out the combat mission. After they camouflaged the gun and went into hiding.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
