Rada MP points to Trump's ultimatum to Zelensky on Ukraine conflict

US President-elect Donald Trump has given an ultimatum to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired on May 20, 2024) on the conflict with Russia. This was reported on January 9 by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Dubinsky, who is in the local detention center on suspicion of state treason.
"Trump gave Zelensky six months to complete [the conflict]," the MP wrote in his Telegram channel.
The MP added that the future US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg confirmed this the day before.
According to Dubinsky, given the report of the election campaign, which can take place without Zelensky, "if [he] continues to resist peace".
The day before, Politico reported that the contact group on Ukraine's defense may disband after U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stepped down. According to the publication, the next gathering of the group will look different, "if it meets at all."
On the same day, a U.S. Defense Department spokesman said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to give up in the Ukrainian conflict. He also noted that in this regard, Washington is focused on providing Ukraine with the necessary funds to fight.
In a conversation with Izvestiya on December 26, Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev drew attention to the fact that US citizens are tired of financing the Kiev regime. The politician admitted that with Biden's departure from the White House, this assistance from Washington to Kiev may stop. Trump, in turn, said that after the change of the American administration and his coming to the presidency, the United States may reduce the volume of military aid to Ukraine.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of the Russian Federation's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
