US President Joe Biden is ready to help Ukraine, but not the residents of California affected by the fires. This was stated by American TV host and political activist Charlie Kirk in the social network X (former Twitter) on January 8.

"On a day when Americans in Los Angeles are watching their homes, pets and businesses burn and could use some help, the Biden administration is preparing to send another $500 million to Ukraine. That's why they lost," Kirk wrote, pointing to the Democrats' defeat in the November 2024 presidential election.

Numerous wildfires in Los Angeles were reported the day before, the fire started in the Eaton Canyon neighborhood. Extinguishing continues, strong winds are fueling the fire, rescue crews are short of water. Due to the fires, Biden declared a major disaster mode in the state of California.

Emergency services urged residents to be ready to evacuate. In the evacuation zone was also the residence of US Vice President Kamala Harris, who said that with all her heart sympathizes with those affected by the fire. Don Reiman, one of the residents of Los Angeles, told Izvestia that his house was the only one that survived the fire, while the rest of the buildings turned into ruins.
