President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping is furious about the statements of economist Gao Shanwen, who said that China artificially increases the rate of economic growth of the country. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on January 9 that.

"We don't know the exact real growth rate of China's economy. My guess is that in the last two or three years, real [GDP growth] has averaged around 2%, although the official figures are closer to 5%," the economist noted at a forum in Washington in December.

In addition, Shanwen also admitted that the Chinese authorities will not be able to stimulate economic growth. Therefore, he called Beijing's actions in this economic issue opportunistic.

According to sources, Xi Jinping instructed to bring the economist to responsibility, complements "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on December 19, 2024, Chinese economist Andrew Leung told "Izvestia" that relations between Russia and China are strengthening because of the perfect combination of their economies, US aggression against both countries and a common border.

The expert drew attention to the significant growth of bilateral trade between Russia and China. According to Leung, the economies of both countries are symbiotic, as Russia is one of the world's largest exporters of energy and agricultural products, while China is the world's largest consumer.
