Dodik pointed to Europe's huge financial losses in the conflict in Ukraine

Europe is losing the conflict in Ukraine and losing billions of euros on it. This statement was made by the president of the Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, in an interview with the state's radio and television on January 8. "What kind of Europe? It lost many billions on the <conflict> in Ukraine and is losing in it. And who is winning? [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. Because he was right from the beginning. Because back in 2007 he said: "Don't do this, you won't get anything," Dodik recalled the Munich conference.

The politician also emphasized that Putin is protecting Russia from Western countries.

Earlier in the day, the Pentagon said that Putin does not intend to surrender in the conflict in Ukraine. On January 7, US President-elect Donald Trump said that he understands the position of Russia, which opposes Ukraine's membership in NATO. In addition, the politician said that he was aware of Putin 's readiness to establish contact with the United States, but considered it unacceptable before his official return to the White House.

At the same time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Ukraine had once again put the European economy in a difficult situation by stopping the transit of Russian gas. He added that Ukraine's decision leads to new price increases and creates competitiveness problems for Central Europe and the entire European Union.
