Russia has started the shortest working week in 2025
The first and shortest working week in 2025 has begun in Russia, it will last two days - January 9 and 10.
Weekends dedicated to the New Year and Christmas holidays lasted 11 days - from December 29 to January 8. At the same time, December 30 became a day off due to the transfer of the working day to the 28th.
The next long vacation will come for Russians only in May 2025: from the 1st to the 4th day and from the 8th to the 11th.
Earlier, on January 8, State Duma deputy Sergei Gavrilov from the CPRF party said that the New Year holidays will not affect the size of the fixed salary, as the employer is obliged to pay the established monthly salary in full.
According to Gavrilov's information, citizens who receive a salary that depends on the actual time worked or the amount of work performed can have their wages reduced. Thus, if an employee works less than usual in January, his earnings may be reduced.
