Air defense forces overnight intercepted 15 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions


The air defense forces intercepted 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight over the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 9.
"During the past night, air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," the press service reported in the department's Telegram channel.
It is specified that five drones were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region, nine - over the territory of the Krasnodar region and one - over the Bryansk region.
Earlier, on January 8, air defense means overnight intercepted 32 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. It is specified that 11 drones were intercepted over the territory of Saratov region, four UAVs - over the territories of Kursk and Rostov regions, three - over the territories of Belgorod and Bryansk regions, two - over the territory of Krasnodar region, one - over the territory of Volgograd region and four - over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
