The grandson of former South African President Nelson Mandela Ndileka was detained on suspicion of car theft. This was reported by SABC News TV channel on January 8, citing police.

"Five suspects, including Mandela's grandson, have been detained for stealing a car," the report stated.

According to the TV channel, the car was found in Mandela's former home in the city of Johannesburg in South Africa. In addition, the detainees, four men and one woman, are suspected of possession of unregistered firearms.

The intruders will appear before the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 10.

In the summer of 2023, Nelson Mandela's granddaughter, founder and CEO of the Tembekile Mandela Foundation, said it was necessary to defeat Western influence on the African continent. According to the speaker, if the people of Africa begin to believe in themselves, in the independence of the continent, in the ability to get rid of the control of Western powers, only then will Africa begin to win.
