Earth organisms will cope with bacteria from space. Sergei Yazev, director of the Astronomical Observatory of Irkutsk State University and senior researcher at the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told Izvestia in an exclusive interview.

"Note that so far no space bacteria have been detected. But if they do arrive, there is great competition on our planet and all suitable ecological niches are already occupied. Therefore, if other life to us will fly, then, most likely, our biosphere will immediately destroy it: it will simply eat it," - said the expert.

Also astronomer gave a forecast of the probability of geomagnetic storms in 2025. In his opinion, the peak of the current 11-year cycle of solar activity has already passed and now the activity of the star is on the decline.

At the same time for such periods are characterized by strong but isolated flares on the Sun, during which there are emissions of coronal matter. If they are directed toward Earth, geomagnetic storms are possible.
